Choose and assess the placement area
Look for a stable, reasonably level area with room around the container. Consider surface condition, drainage, pedestrian access, and the effect on garage or business entrances. Ask for the actual footprint and the clearance needed by the delivery vehicle.
Check above and around the driveway
Trees, low wires, building overhangs, gates, and narrow turns can prevent placement even when the container itself fits. Describe those features in advance. Keep parked cars, trailers, supplies, and loose equipment out of the approach for both delivery and retrieval.
Confirm rules and surface protection
Check HOA or property management restrictions. Public street or right-of-way placement may require local authorization. Discuss surface protection with the rental team; boards may help in some situations but are not a guarantee against damage on every surface.
Have a delivery-day contact
Provide a reachable phone number and clear placement instructions. Avoid relying on an unmarked spot or an unavailable contact. Keep the agreed location clear until the truck arrives, and preserve the same access through pickup day.
